Historical heritage management

A group of experts is assembled by the office of the mayor of Nerja, to advise the town on the management of its historical heritage.

Mayor José Alberto Armijo made the announcement following a meeting with historian Francisco Capilla and the director of the Museum of Nerja, Juan Bautista Salado. Armijo said the group will have the necessary experience and training to effectively manage the city’s heritage, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

Armijo said: “We are going to set up this advisory group with which we are starting a new stage of greater involvement and commitment to the historical heritage of our city, to promote policies relating to its management and promotion. He continued by emphasizing the need to initiate the development of the first municipal plan for the management of historical heritage.

At the same meeting, the request to declare the Hermitage of Our Lady of Angustias in Nerja a Property of Cultural Interest was discussed and discussed before the meeting with the Director General of Historical and Documentary Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Andalusian Government on Friday 21 January.
